This article seeks to systematize the stages and processes of creating the so-called “Learning Communities”, whose main objective is to make educational institutions, spaces for the production of knowledge and culture, connecting the interests of students, community knowledge and academic knowledge. Through a case study of the Sol Nascente community, in the city of Ceilândia, and, based on the construction of a sustainable school building, existing educational models, current rules and bureaucratic obstacles are questioned and proposals for the creation of new social constructions learning are presented. The proposal to reconfigure the school practice, promoting the human development of students, is described in all its stages and, at the end, there is mention of the organization of the second phase of the project “Networks of Learning Communities”, placing the student in the center of the process, able to start the formative cycle of creating prototypes of these communities and the desire to continue bypassing a current education system affected by endemic and anachronistic corruption.
