Development of tomatoes grown under different water management conditions

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the impact of water management on tomato development. The experiment was carried out in a protected environment (vegetation house) in northwest Paraná, using a completely randomized design, with two levels of water replacement (60 and 100% of the evapotranspiration of the culture-ETc) and eight replications. Leaf pigments, height, relative water content, leaf temperature and mass accumulation of components were analyzed. The cultivation of tomato plants with water deficit (60% of ETc) presents a reduction in the development (16.51%), mass accumulation(18.89 to 27.30%) and yield (24.25%) of the plants in relation to the cultivation without deficit (100% of ETc).
