Abstract

The article aimed to present theoretical and empirical elements relevant to the understanding of the impact of cryptoassets and their regulation on society and law, presenting the main points related to money laundering and the methods for its prevention recommended by the FATF, an intergovernmental entity established in 1989 at the initiative of OECD member countries and other associated countries. It was concluded that it is necessary to establish effective supervisory mechanisms to ensure compliance with regulations in the field of cryptoassets in order to prevent deviations in their application in society.

Diego Burgo e Oliveira Marros, La Salle University

Diego Burgo de Oliveira Marros is a bachelor's student in Social and Legal Sciences at La Salle University, Canoas, RS. Member of the Scientific Initiation Group: Sociedade Internacional em Movimento

José Alberto Antunes de Miranda, La Salle University

Graduate in Law from the Vale do Rio dos Sinos University (1996), Specialization in Integration and Mercosur from UFRGS (1999), Master in International Relations from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2004) and Doctor in International Strategic Studies of UFRGS (2012). He is currently Adviser on Inter-institutional and International Affairs and full professor of the Master's Degree in Law and Society, as well as professor of the International Relations Course at La Salle University. He has experience in International Relations, with an emphasis on Foreign Policy and Foreign Policy Analysis, Regional Integration, International Organizations, International Law, Constitution and Foreign Relations, and Internationalization of Higher Education.
