The supervisory role as a factor of continuing professional learning of physical education cooperating teacher

The aim of the study was to understand how the role of cooperating teacher contributes to teachers’ professional development and which are the relevant experiences lived within the process. Twenty-six cooperating teachers were interviewed, and situational analysis, according to Clarke, was the method applied. Cooperating teachers report that mentoring function impels them to rethink themselves as supervisors and physical education teachers, as well as changing their own practices.
