Freedom pedagogy and literacy

the potentiality of the instruments of this pedagogy to form children and teachers

Abstract

This article presents the potentialities and current trends of Freinet pedagogy. It results from reflections on the practice of teachers who, in Freinet, found inspiration to think of an emancipatory educational proposal. We present a brief history on Celèstin Freinet. We report the work of two literacy teachers from the municipal network of Campinas-SP and, finally, the experience of working with Freinetian instruments with students of the Pedagogy course at a private university in the interior of São Paulo, in the discipline: Theory and practice of literacy . What unites these experiences is the theme of literacy and the work with the instruments of this pedagogy.
