Abstract

The article analyzes the circuit pedagogical ideas about the function and teacher preparation throughout history, under the focus of the sixteenth century to the twentieth century, from the contributions twelve theorists / philosophers of education, Manifesto of New Education Pioneers in Brazil (1932) and the Educators Manifesto. The dialogue with the theoretical settled chronologically, considering the context in which the works have been published and / or broadcast, with its implications for the teacher's role. The methodology adopted was the literature review that allowed the return to the classics that evoked for you to think about the educational process and its relationship with society. The study was based on Erasmus of Rotterdam (sec. XVI) to reach the thought of Vygotsky (XX century). The conclusion shows affinities and advances around the teaching function, recognizing that is specifically placed for consideration and creativity of educators nowadays the challenge of building an education that, even within the context of capitalist determinations form the student to the full exercise citizenship from the appropriation of social culture and historically produced by humanity and the radicalization of the neoliberal discourse of governments. To that end points as teacher training components: the scientific and cultural knowledge, pedagogical and didactic knowledge, alongside the professional teaching
knowledge required for enrollment in the teaching profession.
